1. How does it all work?

   Quite simply Cred is a micropayment system built to allow users and publishers to access and monetize their content. For publishers looking to monetize content we provide custom build integration to your content management system (for example a WordPress plugin) allowing you to easily paywall parts of your site and grow revenue. For consumers of this content, Cred offers a single interface to buy cred and then pay for content on multiple sites rather than the inconvenience of entering your details on multiple sites.

2. What are Micropayments?

   The debate over the value of micropayments is a long and complicated series of conversations we won't bore you over.

   The facts are simple, different people consider a micropayment to be a different amount. Here's what Cred thinks:

   • Roughly ten U.S. dollars or less
   • Charged in increments of around ten U.S. cents.

3. Why should I use the Cred system?

   For many reasons, but primarily in order to pay fair value for the content you already enjoy. Without your support most content on the Internet will devolve from its current excellence to abysmal, as content providers find ways to cut costs. The first costs cut will be the content creators, and as the bar is lowered even further, B-Grade journalists will be replaced by C, D and E-Grade high school students to create their content. A micropayment is typically less than a dollar in value, less than you'd pay for a pack of gum, with which you will not only contribute to stem the tide against low quality content online, but also to provide a value to that content.

   Using Cred makes this easy: rather than having to sign up to every single content provider out there individually, you can use your Cred account to access multiple content providers throughout the Internet. Not only do you have easy access to content providers with one login, you also have the ability to access alternative content such as music, books, audio and video content and any other type of virtual content provided online at no extra cost to yourself.

4. How do I pay for content?

   Paying for content is as easy as entering your username and password into a partner website. Provided you have enough cred, you'll be able to access all sorts of content, either on an individual content model or a subscription option. Cred works through micropayments, meaning each item of content costs a small amount with no transaction fees.

5. How do I recharge my account?

   You can recharge your account from the Cred site. Once you login to your control panel you will be able to buy cred in various denominations.

6. How much is a "cred" worth?

   A cred is worth one South African rand (this is transparent to the user, you can purchase in the currency of your choice), and you can pay up to a maximum of 100 cred per transaction.

7. What denominations can I buy?

   The range of denominations of cred purchasable will vary depending on the payment gateway used, as there are various different costs involved. Typically, you will be able to purchase in denominations of 50 or 100 cred.
